Afghanistan Monash Student Society

The Afghanistan Monash Student Society is seeking affiliation with MSA Clubs & Societies as a new Monash club and we need your help by adding your name as a prospective member.

To indicate your interest in joining this club please select either MSA+ Membership or Non-MSA Membership (above). There is no cost associated with 'joining' this club at this point. 

The Inaugural General Meeting (IGM) of the Afghanistan Monash Student Society will take place on Tuesday 14 October 2025 at 3.00pm and all Monash University students are encouraged to come along. As part of the proceedings during the IGM, a committee will be elected to start running the club from this point forward.  
Please note: to be eligible to vote and/or nominate for a committee position, you must be a Clayton enrolled student. 

The main purpose of the club is to advance the education of the students of Monash University by—

• creating a supportive environment for Afghan students at Monash to connect, share experiences, foster cultural identity and build a strong sense of community;
• providing opportunities for Monash students to learn about Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage and languages, while simultaneously offering opportunities for Afghan students to share their knowledge in a supportive environment, thereby promoting inclusivity and diversity at Monash;
• establishing a peer support system for Afghan students at Monash, ensuring their voices and perspectives are represented in the wider Monash community; and
• encouraging student participation in advocacy initiatives that concern Afghanistan, such as displacement, educational freedom and women’s rights, promoting ethical awareness and global citizenship that fosters critical thinking within the broader Monash student body.
