Afghanistan Monash Student Society

The Afghanistan Monash Student Society is seeking affiliation with MSA Clubs & Societies as a new Monash club and we need your help by adding your name as a prospective member.

To indicate your interest in joining this club please select either MSA+ Membership or Non-MSA Membership (above). 

Note:  there is no cost associated with 'joining' this club at this point. If sufficient expressions of interest to join this club are received by Wednesday 10 September 2025 then the new club Applicant Group will contact you via email to invite you to the Inaugural General Meeting (IGM). At the IGM, a committee will be elected to start running the club from Semester 1, 2026.  

The main purposes of the club are:

• To create a supportive environment for Afghan students at Monash to connect, share experiences, foster cultural identity and build a strong sense of community.
• To create opportunities for Monash students to learn about Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage and languages, while simultaneously providing opportunities for Afghan students to share their knowledge in a supportive environment, thereby promoting  inclusivity and diversity at Monash.
• To create a peer support system for Afghan students at Monash, ensuring their voices and perspectives are represented in the wider Monash community.
• To encourage student participation in advocacy initiatives which support issues concerning Afghanistan, such as displacement, educational freedom and women’s rights promoting, ethical awareness and global citizenship to foster critical thinking within the  broader Monash student body.
