The Afghanistan Monash Student Society (AMSS) is a student-led community that brings people together through shared culture, connection and support. We exist to create a welcoming environment where Afghan students can feel comfortable being themselves, form meaningful friendships, and stay connected to their cultural roots, while also opening our doors to the wider Monash community. Our Society hosts a range of cultural, social and educational events designed to spark connection and conversation. Whether through celebrations, casual gatherings or collaborative initiatives, AMSS provides spaces where students can learn from one another, exchange experiences and build a sense of belonging on campus. Alongside community-building, AMSS is committed to representation and advocacy. We strive to amplify Afghan student voices and encourage thoughtful engagement with issues affecting Afghanistan, including access to education, displacement and women’s rights. Through this work, we aim to promote inclusivity, ethical awareness and global citizenship within the Monash student body.
