Tamil Language Society, Monash (MTLS)

The Monash Tamil Language Society has successfully sought affiliation with MSA Clubs & Societies as a new Monash club. 

We are currently finalising a number of administrative duties and this club will officially launch in Semester 2, 2026.  To become a member of this club please return to this page in the week beginning 20 July 2026. 

The Monash Tamil Language Society is established to be a charity whose purpose is to advance the education of the students of Monash University by—

1. providing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich legacy of the Tamil language, philosophy and culture; 
2. fostering a supportive community where Tamil students and the broader community can develop a sense of belonging and connection through language, values and experiences;   
3. encouraging the preservation and active celebration of Tamil traditions by creating opportunities to engage with language and practices; and 
4. offering engaging experiences and initiatives that educate students about the richness and diversity of Tamil language, literature, arts and global diaspora.
